Fault Definition Made easy
The Easy Fault Definition (EFD) is a powerful add-on tool enhancement to the Xception's front-end application - the Experiment Management Environment (EME). The EFD allows the user to browse through an application's source code and inter-actively mark memory ranges, within the code and data spaces, as either fault locations or fault triggers. This behavior is achieved by using a simple interface and the same state-of-the-art technology embedded in the main Xception product.

Powerful, Yet Simple
Behind the apparent simplicity of the interface lies a tremendous power. The user has no complex tasks to perform: instead, a fairly intuitive "point-and-click" functionality is given. A well-designed mouse usage unveils the power of the EFD tool, providing the user with accurately and precise information, which in turn can be effectively used to locate and fix many unsuspected bugs in fault tolerance software under validation.
A Flexible Design
The EFD tool is an ingenious piece of software that may be easily extended in the future to include new and exciting features. The EFD relies on patent pending technology that makes use of the debugging toolset available for each target system.
Systems Supported
The EFD tool is an enhancement of the Xception's front-end EME application. Likewise, it is 100% compatible with all supported systems and it may be upgraded similarly.
